And so that you know who’s writing here, we’d like to introduce ourselves a little:

Sebastian (aka. nocci)

I’m in my mid-forties and come from the far north of Germany.

I’ve been a nerd for many years, have contacts in the Chaos Computer Club scene and at some point I came across the topic of 3D printing via hackspaces. And so it was that a good 3 years ago I got more involved with the subject and then started with my first own printer, an Ender 3v2.

In the meantime, I have realized that not only printing, but also modding this device can be a lot of fun. On the one hand, with the options offered by the manufacturer, through to the software/firmware of the Jyers firmware and later also Klipper.

About a month ago I got a new printer, an Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus, and I thought it would be exciting to describe the path I have taken and share new experiences with other people. That’s where the idea of starting this blog came from.

It should not be an advertising site for manufacturers etc., as I have unfortunately seen too often, or a YouTube channel where information you could read in 10 minutes is hidden in a 30-minute video

I am in my mid-30s and live in Munich.

I’ve always been interested in DIY as well as electronics and programming. Since I found out that such people like to call themselves “makers” and come together in the “maker scene”, I’ve been part of it and got involved in various projects and groups.
Professionally, I work in the electrical industry.

I’ve been involved with 3D printing as a hobby since 2016. I often give private advice to people who want to start 3D printing. I have recently noticed how much easier it has become to find out about the topic and how much better and more reliable (many) printers have become. Unfortunately, there are only a few classic blogs on this and many other topics, which is why I’m all the more excited about this one.

My topics within the 3D universe on this blog will probably be mainly: organizers and tidy up helpers like Gridfinity and Skadis accessories, recycling of printing materials, prints for recycling other materials, sustainability and 3D printing in general, experimenting with new printing methods, and… that’s enough for now. 😀

I don’t want to hide the fact that I’m a Prusa fanboy. I currently only have devices from this manufacturer, an Mini+, an MK3S with MMU2S and an MK4. I have had experience with other brands, an Kickstarter Delta printer “Trium 3D” (which never worked), an Renkforce RF100 XL and an Creality CR10. I stayed with Prusa, which I personally am very convinced of. I will try to write articles that are as brand-independent as possible, as long as it is not about the device itself. I don’t want to convince anyone here, but if I am asked for a recommendation for a device, I will of course reply with my opinion.

Almost half a century old but still excited about tinkering with stuff at home.

As a kid in the 1990s I got totally excited about my first hand scanner and injekt printer. With lots of patients and stamina I was able to scan sketches and reproduce them on paper.

Now, more than 30 years later I’m as excited (and sometimes frustrated) when my heavily modded Creality Ender 3 V2 created physical objects from files I created on my computer. Although I know almost every layer of this infrastructure it still feels magic to me.

I hope to share some of my experience here and make it easier for new starters in this field to get productive.

Wer wir sind – und warum…

Ich bin mitteendeviertzig Jahre alt und komme aus dem hohen Norden Deutschlands.

Seit vielen Jahren könnte man mich durchaus als Nerd bezeichnen, habe Kontakte in die Chaos-Computer-Club-Szene und über Hackspaces bin ich irgendwann auf das Thema 3D Druck gekommen. Und so kam es, dass ich mich vor gut 3 Jahren intensiver mit dem Thema beschäftigt habe und dann mit dem ersten eigenen Drucker, einem Ender 3v2 angefangen habe.

Zwischenzeitlich habe ich dann festgestellt, dass nicht nur das Drucken, sondern auch das modden dieses Geräts sehr viel Spaß machen kann. Einerseits mit denen vom Hersteller angebotenen Möglichkeiten bis hin Software/Firmware der Jyers-Firmware und später auch Klipper.

Vor gut einem Monat habe ich dann einen neuen Drucker bekommen, einen Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus und ich fände es spannend diesen Weg, den ich gemacht habe, zu beschreiben, neue Erfahrungen mit anderen Menschen zu teilen. Daher kam die Idee diesen Blog zu starten.

Es soll keine Werbeseite für Hersteller usw. werden, wie ich es leider schon zu oft gesehen habe oder ein Youtube-Kanal, wo gesuchte Infos, die man in 10min lesen könnte in einem 30 Minuten Video versteckt sind.

Ich bin Mitte 30 und wohne in München.

Schon immer interessiere ich mich fürs Basteln, Handwerk aber auch Elektronik und Programmieren. Seit ich herausgefunden habe, dass sich solche Menschen gerne „Maker“ nennen und sich in der „Makerszene“ vernetzen, bin ich teil von dieser und bringe mich bei verschiedenen Projekten und Gemeinschaften ein.
Beruflich bin ich in der Elektro-Branche tätig.

Mit dem Thema 3D Druck beschäftige ich mich privat seit 2016. Ich berate privat immer wieder Menschen, die mit dem 3D Drucken anfangen möchten. Dabei ist mir in letzter Zeit aufgefallen, wie viel einfacher es geworden ist, sich über das Thema zu informieren, und wie viel besser und zuverlässiger (viele) Drucker geworden sind. Klassische Blogs zu diesem, wie auch vielen anderen Themen, gibt es leider wenige, weshalb ich mich um so mehr auf diesen hier freue.

Meine Themen innerhalb des 3D Universums auf diesem Blog werden vermutlich hauptsächlich sein: Ordungs- und Aufräumhelfer wie Gridfinity und Skadis-Zubehör, Recycling von Druckmaterial, gedruckte Hilfsmittel zum Recycling von anderen Materialien, allgemein Nachhaltigkeit und 3D Druck, Experimente mit neuen Druckmethoden, und… das reicht vorerst. 😀

Ich möchte hier nicht verheimlichen, dass ich ein Prusa Fanboy bin. Ich habe derzeit nur Geräte von diesem Hersteller, ein Mini+, ein MK3S mit MMU2S und einen MK4. Ich habe Erfahrungen mit anderen Marken gemacht, ein Kickstarter Delta-Drucker „Trium 3D“ (der nie funktioniert hat), ein Renkforce RF100 XL und ein Creality CR10. Geblieben bin ich bei Prusa, von denen ich persönlich sehr überzeugt bin. Ich werde versuchen Artikel möglichst Marken-ungebunden zu formulieren, sofern es nicht um das Gerät an sich geht. Ich möchte hier nicht missionieren, nur wenn ich nach einer Empfehlung für ein Gerät gefragt werden, antworte ich natürlich mit meiner Meinung.

Fast ein halbes Jahrhundert alt, aber immer noch begeistert von der Bastelei zu Hause.

Als Kind in den 1990er Jahren war ich total begeistert von meinem ersten Handscanner und Injektionsdrucker. Mit viel Geduld und Ausdauer gelang es mir, Skizzen einzuscannen und auf Papier zu reproduzieren.

Heute, mehr als 30 Jahre später, bin ich genauso begeistert (und manchmal frustriert), wenn mein stark modifizierter Creality Ender 3 V2 physische Objekte aus Dateien erzeugt, die ich auf meinem Computer erstellt habe. Obwohl ich fast jede Ebene dieser Infrastruktur kenne, hat es für mich immer noch etwas Magisches.

Ich hoffe, dass ich hier etwas von meiner Erfahrung weitergeben kann, um Neueinsteigern in diesem Bereich den Einstieg in die Produktion zu erleichtern.
